Spreading the Culture of Volunteering: Fujairah Natural Resources Foundation Organizes Program to Encourage Community Participation

The Fujairah Natural Resources Foundation organized a program entitled “Together towards Sustaining Volunteer Work” for two consecutive days in the Innovation Lab, with the aim of spreading the culture of volunteering, enhancing community participation and encouraging young people to engage in this field. The program included 3 lectures that were held in person and virtually, and attracted more participation and attendance. Of 235 employees, the Foundation hosted speakers with competence and experience in the fields of volunteer work, to consolidate its culture and highlight its importance to institutions and individuals.

Engineer Ali Qassim, Director General of the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation, confirmed that the Foundation has taken voluntary work as an approach and a pillar of state building, to fulfill its mission by motivating its employees and all members of society to participate and carry out their duties towards their society in line with the approach of the wise leadership that takes voluntary work as one of the main tributaries. He paid great attention to sustainable community development, explaining that the Foundation provided its cadres with many opportunities that constitute a motivating framework for human and community giving stemming from the values ​​and traditions of Emirati society in elegant images that respect humanity and appreciate the value of giving.

Maryam Al-Zahmi, Director of Weights and Achievement Centers at the Foundation, delivered a lecture entitled “Volunteerism is our duty”, in which she addressed several axes represented in the importance of volunteer work, its types and its positive effects on the individual and society, and the importance of motivating individuals to carry out their national and humanitarian duty. She also reviewed the efforts of the Foundation in volunteering. In crises and humanitarian initiatives organized by it in cooperation with the concerned authorities in the emirate.

Wadad Al-Hafiti and Fatima Khatem of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority also delivered a lecture entitled “This is what Zayed loved,” stressing that the culture of volunteering is an inherent concept in the hearts of those who live in the UAE, and they indicated the important role of volunteering in strengthening the personality of the volunteer and developing his perceptions and knowledge and forming his personality through Its integration into different environments and various fields, in addition to presenting the “Awn” award for community service and the most prominent initiatives and projects of the Red Crescent.

Fayez Saeed Al-Yamahi, Assistant Director of the Association for Planning and Institutional Excellence, emphasized the role of the Association, which set a clear vision that strengthened the interest of society groups in volunteering and their attention to the voluntary initiatives launched by it, which support the state’s directions to promote sustainable development in this regard, in a presentation he gave entitled “Our Volunteering is Community Sustainability”, expressing He expressed his pride in the efforts of volunteers exerted locally and globally to be ambassadors of their countries and active contributors in this field.
