Prato, 11 October 2021 – Clashes between Pakistani protesters and people of Chinese nationality registered this afternoon in the industrial area of Macrolotto 2 of Prato, where, as has happened on various occasions in recent months, union members Yes Cobas had staged a protest in front of a Chinese ready-to-wear, the Dreamland: a client company of Texprint, a company that has long been at the center of the union protests for the alleged labor exploitation of workers, especially of Pakistani origin.
The group of demonstrators had returned from the demonstration in Florence and stopped in front of the company for the sit in. Around 6 pm, a dozen Chinese citizens in two cars, according to what has been learned, would have arrived at the site of the protest and they would start hitting Pakistani protesters. Among these four would have been injured. From the images that some demonstrators managed to record with their mobile phones, it would appear that some of the Chinese were armed with wooden clubs.
Of the four injured, one is serious and was hospitalized in lawn. The investigations into what happened are of the police, which views the videos of the violence to identify those responsible and reconstruct the dynamics.
