The Histoire et Patrimoine de Grièges association is relaunching its amateur video festival “Heritage and Traditions”. To your phones and cameras!
The History and Heritage association, in Grièges, relaunched its amateur video festival “Heritage and Traditions”, after a first abortive season in 2020, due to the first confinement which did not allow the jury to be assembled. The 2021 participants will also compete with those from last year. Because it is indeed a competition, for which everyone is invited to produce a video lasting 3 to 5 minutes maximum, shot in the canton of Veyle, on a free subject related to heritage. Films, edited, sounded, subtitled a minima and ready to be viewed, should be stored on USB keys or DVDs. Competitors have until March 22, the last deadline, to send their works and their registration form, downloadable from the website of the Pays de l’Ain heritage federation, to the treasurer of History and Heritage, Jean Vital.
Save local memory
“At the origin of this festival, we find several ambitions, explains the latter. The first is to be able to record the local memory, in particular that of the elderly, before their disappearance, especially in rural areas. This is why there is no imposed theme. The video can address any element of heritage, whether built or not built. It can even come back to an element of recent history: why such and such a district bears such a name or how the construction of the TGV cut into three, the town of Grièges, for example. The idea was also to put the spotlight on the association, which has produced several books, including a pre-inventory of the canton of Pont-de-Veyle, in 1986. Finally, we note that many people practice video today. It would have been a shame not to try to regroup them. Once again, it is a question of not losing elements of knowledge and oral tradition. “
The association hopes, this time, to be able to assemble a professional jury and unveil the prize list, on Saturday April 17, at the village hall of Saint-André-d’Huiriat. A communication was launched through the various municipal bulletins of the municipalities of Veyle, to invite all amateur directors over 14 years old, possibly accompanied by parental authorization for minors, to compete.
Trades
If sanitary conditions allow, the winners will be invited to come and present their film and discuss with the public, after the public screening.
