Spotify will charge the SUT to residents of Puerto Rico

The music platform Spotify, announced to its clients in Puerto Rico that they were forced by law to initiate the collection of the SUT in each monthly payment of the premium subscriptions.

In an email sent to users, Spotify reported that the charge will begin on September 15.

“We are required to apply the Puerto Rico Sales Tax to your monthly subscription. This tax will be automatically applied to your invoice on your next charge day,” the communication reads.

As they said, the cost of using the platform will not increase more than $ 1.84 per month, depending on the type of subscription that each user has.
