JAKARTA – Spotify has launched Offline backup, a new ability to listen to songs offline without having to download songs. This new feature will be released on Thursday, October 3 for Premium account users.
Users can listen to songs when there is no network because offline backup remembers users’ last activity. This feature will take a trailer of songs that are inserted into ranks or tracks and songs that have just been played to be saved.
These songs will be used as an easy-to-reach rotating list when users want to save data, enable airplane mode or find themselves in difficult network conditions. Spotify explains that this feature relies on caching inside the platform.
“To do this, we include traces that have been stored on your device as part of the song you usually listen to on Spotify (also called cache),” Spotify said, as quoted on its official website.
Interestingly, this offline tour list can be filtered and sorted based on artists, user mood, and genre. Spotify says that this feature is not only released for iOS and Android, but also for Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
If you are interested in using this feature, make sure your app is top quality and uses the latest version. When data or Wi-Fi is turned off, offline backup will appear automatically. Alternatively, you can add the songs you want to your library.
“Make sure you’ve listened to more than five songs recently and enable the offline listening feature. Find this feature under Settings, then save data and offline or in storage. Find the button in offline listening time,” Spotify explained.
