Spotify seems pretty lost, keep adding new ‘features’ in the apps, but the features that have been requested by the community for years are simply ignored
For example, the option to remove recommendations or remove podcasts/albums/artists from ‘trending for you’, ‘recently listened’, or one of the 17 other empty categories of recommendations.
Super simple feature but unfortunately it is now simply impossible so if you have listened to (part of) a podcast once or even accidentally clicked on it, you are stuck with it until Sint Juttemis
Been looking for nice podcasts myself more than a year ago and am still being bombarded with recommendations. Hell even accidentally clicked on a podcast and so it took over a year before it disappeared from all those dozen recommendations. This was something with erotic stories or something so it was really nice to have a big screen when opening the app on my Shield where the whole family is there
And before I get reactions of ‘yeah, that’s what they all say’, I listen to podcasts at the office that everyone can just listen to. I do have a broad interest (tech, history, science, psychology, music-related things, general social topics, ect) but I really don’t listen to erotic stories in the office
In any case, the basic functionality seems to be tucked away further and further and new features are rammed down your throat. For example, I have to see the lyrics on a large screen, but it takes several clicks to add a single song to my play lists. It seems to me that something like this should have a basic curtain in the UX design
