Spotify Raises Prices for Premium Subscribers Amidst Growing Competition

Today, Monday, the audio broadcasting platform Spotify announced that it has raised the prices of its 200 million subscribers, which are not supported by ads.

This is the first increase in the price of the individual premium package in more than a decade, according to the BBC website today, Tuesday.

In the United Kingdom, prices will rise by one pound per month, while in the United States they will rise by at least one dollar.

“In order for us to continue to innovate, we are adjusting our prices for the premium version across a number of markets around the world,” the platform’s management said.

And she justified this price hike by saying, “These updates will help us continue to provide value to fans and artists on our platform.”

And “Spotify” indicated that users “will have a grace period of one month before the new price becomes effective, unless they cancel the subscription before the grace period ends.”

And “Spotify” followed the path of other major platforms, which in turn raised its price, such as “Apple Music”, “Netflix”, “Max” and others.

With the new increase, the new prices for “Spotify Premium” match the monthly prices of competing platforms, “Apple Music” and “Amazon Music”.
