Spotify provides iOS app with changed interface – Tablets and phones – News

Spotify has adjusted the design of its iOS app. Among other things, the shuffle play button is simplified and no longer contains text. From now on, the app also shows the album art of music tracks in almost all views.

Instead of a broad central button with the text ‘Shuffle play’, the iOS now shows a round green button with a shuffle icon on the right-hand side of the interface. The adjustment has been made for both free and Premium users.

For Premium subscribers only, the change is that the icons for all promotions, such as “like” and “download”, are now centrally placed side by side in the interface. The icon for downloading to listen without a WiFi connection is the same as that for podcasts.

And last but not least Spotify shows on iOS for all views, except for the ‘Album’ view, cover art of tracks. According to the company, this should make navigating and finding trusted numbers easier. Spotify will start releasing the new interface on Thursday 27 February.
