Vertical videos and short clips have been in vogue since Snapchat at the latest, Instagram made it really socially acceptable with the stories and TikTok is basing its entire business on this concept. More and more companies are introducing such videos in their apps, even if – as in the case of the XboxApp – is not always necessarily comprehensible and necessary.
Chris Messina has now found a new Discover area in the beta version of the Spotify app, which can be accessed via the menu bar at the bottom. There you will find – you will already guess – vertical videos. Short clips of music videos that are in vogue right now.
It remains to be seen whether the function will make it into the final app. However, it can be assumed.
Not only that, @Spotify Discover is basically a pared down version of a TikTok-style feed of vertical music videos (likely using their canvas format) that you can like or skip.#NewSpotify pic.twitter.com/hpOEZ8v9bl
