Spotify is testing its newest package “Spotify Plus”

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Spotify is currently testing the Spotify Plus package. At this rate, Spotify users can enjoy the “premium” service for less.

According to The Verge, Spotify Plus is currently being tested for service plans streaming latest. Spotify Plus will combine free and premium services, but this plan will still show ads like Spotify’s free tier.

The difference is, this plan will not limit the number of tracks users can play like the free service tier. Users are also free to choose which songs they want to hear.

Spotify’s free tier has been around since 2018. But at this rate, users can’t skip more than six tracks per hour. In addition, users can only select and listen to certain tracks from 15 selected playlists.

The new Spotify Plus tier is one of Spotify’s ways to provide low-cost plans to ease some of those restrictions.

This Spotify Plus package will be priced at USD 0.99 (Rp 13 thousand) or ten percent of the standard premium tier fee, which is US $ 9.99 (Rp 139 thousand).

However, this Spotify Plus test will only involve a few random users. This is done by Spotify to measure user interest.

“We’re always working to improve the Spotify experience and we regularly run tests to confirm our decisions,” a Spotify spokesperson said.

“We are currently piloting an ad-supported subscription plan with a limited number of our users,”

Spotify also warned that there is no guarantee that this new service will be launched in the near future.
