Nearly a year ago, Spotify announced plans to launch a higher tier of its streaming service with lossless Hi-Fi quality music in select markets in 2021. However, Spotify HiFi is not yet available and there is no indication when it will arrive.
“We know that the HiFi quality audio is important to you. The sentiment is shared and we are excited to be able to offer a high fidelity Spotify experience to Premium users in the future. But we do not have details of time to share yet”Wrote a Spotify moderator on community forums. “Of course, we will update it here when we can.”
In 2017, Spotify tested lossless audio in the United States for an additional $ 7.55 on top of what they already paid a month.. Since then, other leading music streaming services have embraced lossless streaming, with Apple Music joining Tidal and Deezer.
Spotify has not confirmed how much HiFi will cost when the service is rolled out more widely, but competitors can force the company to do so at no additional cost. Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal added lossless audio at no added cost in the last year.
Other details about Spotify HiFi beyond price and availability remain unclear. But nevertheless, The company has confirmed that the service will work with Spotify Connect-enabled speakers.
