Spotify has today has introduced a new subscription called HiFi which offers superior sound quality, something that has been requested by audiophiles. The developer writes that HiFi will deliver music in a lossless format to users’ devices and speakers connected to Spotify.
The press release doesn’t mention much more, other than the fact that Spotify HiFi will be released in select markets later this year, without announcing what or how much the subscription will cost.
However, a questionnaire drawn up by a Reddit user might provide some clues. The survey mentions a $ 20 / month price tag and special features in addition to improved sound quality, such as “headphone tuner”, “library pro” and “playlist pro”.
