Spotify: Fixed major disruption in streaming service

Dhe music streaming market leader Spotify had to deal with a major disruption for around two hours on Tuesday. “Something’s wrong and we’re investigating. Thank you for your reports!” the Swedish company said on Twitter on Tuesday evening.

More than 100,000 users reported problems on the “allestoerungen.de” portal. Users reported that they are immediately logged out after opening the app. Spotify initially did not provide any information about the cause of the disruption and how long it will last.

The Swedish streaming service claims to have more than 400 million users, including around 180 million paying customers, making it the largest provider in the audio streaming market. Most recently, Spotify’s forecast for the first quarter of 2022 failed to meet analysts’ expectations.

Later that evening, Spotify support gave the all-clear. “Everything looks so much better now! Get in touch with @SpotifyCares if you still need help.” Spotify did not provide any information about the cause of the disruption.
