Spotify has announced that its video podcasts will be available in more countries. With this expansion, 12 countries now have the option to add visual content to audio podcasts.

The countries that will benefit from these functions are: Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Italy, Germany and France.
This video podcast feature is available from October 2021; however, only the following countries could use it: the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
According to Spotify, this visual tool is provided by Anchor, a free proprietary platform that allows you to easily create and edit these files.

“This new extension means that Spotify takes a step further in its commitment to audio creators, investing in tools that deliver great experiences and supporting them to reach global audiences and engage with fans differently,” the platform said in a statement.

The company has recalled that, from now on, users will be able to use the video playback function in the background and thus choose between active viewing (with the video in the foreground) or passive listening (with the video in the background) for free.
