Spotify bans Alain Soral’s podcasts from its platform

“Spotify has decided to remove the podcasts and blocked the ERFM account (the online radio station of Egalité et Réconciliation, political group co-founded by Alain Soral, editor’s note) from its platform due to non-compliance with its content policy”, Spotify France reported during the day Wednesday as the Swedish music platform faces significant criticism over its moderation, including from singer Neil Young who has spearheaded a movement calling outright artists to boycott Spotify, which accuses the streaming giant of hosting the podcast of the popular but controversial American host Joe Rogan.

In its moderation policy, Spotify says in particular to prohibit content “inciting violence or hatred”, or those which promote “dangerous, false or misleading medical information”.

In an attempt to put out the fire, the CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek, announced the introduction, in all his podcasts evoking the Covid, of links which will guide users to factual and scientifically sourced information.

In France, Alain Soral has already been sentenced twenty times, largely for offenses of incitement to hatred, defamation and anti-Semitic insult. At the beginning of February, the specialist in conspiracy Tristan Mendès-France had challenged, on Twitter, Spotify and other podcast platforms, accusing them of hosting the media of Alain Soral.

On his site, Equality and Reconciliation, Alain Soral described his eviction from Spotify as “expeditious Zionist justice”, denouncing “censorship”.
