BeInCrypto – Music streaming giant Spotify has launched its new Artificial Intelligence tool called “DJ AI”, which is powered by generative AI and works like a personalized radio show, even providing context about songs or artists with a voice. announcer who narrates as if it were ChatGPT.
Spotify explains that the personalized AI narrates “as if it knows the user” and their musical tastes and will offer a selection of pre-curated music, along with comments on each song and the artists frequent in the user’s playlists or with a similar style or voice. .
The streaming giant clarifies how it came to preconceive this AI:
“To create the voice model for the DJ, we partnered with our own Head of Cultural Partnerships, Xavier X Jernigan. Previously, X was one of the hosts of Spotify’s first morning (and custom) show, The Get Up. His voice resonated with our listeners and resulted in a loyal following for the podcast. His voice is the first blueprint for the DJ, and we will continue to iterate and innovate.”
Spotify’s developers worked to make the DJ as accurate as possible when it came to vocabulary and word patterns. The AI will integrate Spotify tools such as “recent listens”, “best of the year”, “your past”, “memories”, “weekly discovery” or “editors’ pick”.
A narration played by Spotify’s AI (it works for now for premium users in the US and Canada) dictates the following:
“Alright, let’s move on to some artists I picked for you. They all have a similar vibe. First, I have a Calvin Harris classic. It’s called ‘This Is What You Came For’ and it features Rihanna. It was a huge hit when it launched in 2016, and it’s still a hit today.”

Spotify co-founder and CEO Daniel Ek emphasized the following to Forbes:
“It’s still gaining traction. This marks the biggest change Spotify has had since we introduced the mobile app 10 years ago. In the past, you liked Spotify as the ultimate listening destination, but today this evolution is really about bringing Spotify to life. We want to infuse the platform with the same energy and creativity every time I get the chance to sit next to an artist or creator and feel their passion as they tell their stories.”

BeInCrypto reported weeks ago that Spotify was testing a new feature known as “token-enabled playlists”, which allows NFT holders to connect their wallets and access selected music. The service is only accessible to Moonbirds, Fluf, Overlord and Kingship token holders, and only through a unique link.
