The first module of the Gossau SG sports world is expected to cost 54.6 million Swiss francs. The city parliament would also like to bring forward some projects worth CHF 1.4 million from the second module. The parliamentarians have approved two credits for this.
The first module of the new sports world in the Buechenwald area consists of an indoor swimming pool, four soccer fields and a half-pitch, a grandstand building, athletics facilities as well as exercise and meeting rooms. A playground, beach volleyball courts and the disclosure of the Buechbach are to be preferred from the second module, the city writes in a statement.
In order to finally approve the construction loan of CHF 56 million, the population still has to agree. The vote is expected to take place on May 15th.
Further resolutions and the new President of Parliament
The Walter Zoo can continue to look forward to the support of the city. Until 2025, the zoo will receive CHF 150,000 per year as before. A motion for a reduction to 100,000 francs from the SVP parliamentary group did not find a majority.
Florian Kobler from the SP will be the new parliamentary speaker, his deputy is Florin Scherrer (Die Mitte).
