A sports plane that was forced to return to Eindhoven Airport yesterday afternoon after a collision, was probably hit by a drone. No one was injured, but the device was damaged, police report.
The plane flew yesterday around 3:00 pm at an altitude of about 600 meters above the places Aalst (Gld.) And Veen (NB.) When the two occupants heard a loud bang. They immediately decided to return to Eindhoven Airport.
The pilot asked air traffic control to inspect the landing gear for damage. An Apache helicopter from the Royal Netherlands Air Force that flew in the vicinity was then sent towards the aircraft. There appeared to be no major damage and the plane could land safely.
