Antonia Envagelista Ruiz Mejías, better known as “Toquita” and recognized mainly in the Anzoátegui state for supporting the Marines, Caribs and Deportivo Anzoátegui, died this Sunday in Puerto La Cruz at 101 years of age.

The death was announced by his relatives in the afternoon and minutes later the governor of the entity dedicated a few words to him.

“We will carry you forever in our memories, in our hearts,” wrote the Governor of Anzoátegui, Antonio Barreto Sira.

It should be noted that, in the eastern entity, several sports complexes and stadiums bear his name.

According to the family, the funeral acts will begin this Monday at 9 am at the pro-family funeral home.
