Sports director Mohammed Hamdi has decided to use his expertise at Feyenoord. Hamdi, who has a past with ADO Den Haag, will reportedly take on an advisory role for the management of the Rotterdam club. This also appears to fill the role of international business director.
Mohammed Hamdi completed the KNVB training for professional football management. Until 2013 he held a position in the commercial department of ADO The Hague. Later, Hamdi was appointed the Director of Football at Lagardere Sports & Media, where he was responsible for the commercial rights of UEFA EURO 2016 in the Netherlands and the commercial interests of FC Utrecht, Roda JC Kerkrade and NEC Nijmegen. He subsequently held the position of director at Infront Sports & Media. In 2017, Hamdi was part of the management team of Al Jazira football club in Abu Dhabi.
In 2019, Hamdi was appointed statutory director and CEO of ADO Den Haag by the major shareholder, United Vansen. However, under Hamdi’s leadership, ADO Den Haag could not achieve any successes. The club was in dire straits administratively and financially, and from a sporting point of view the team was unable to maintain its position in the Eredivisie in the 2020-2021 season, which resulted in the fifth relegation in the club’s history to the First Division. Immediately after the last match of the season on May 16, 2021 against FC Twente, Hamdi resigned.
