Sports Champions and Armed Forces in an Event at Cinecittà World – Sport

The world of the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement is revealed at Cinecittà World the first two weekends of September: on September 6, 7, 8, 14 and 15, the Cinema and TV Amusement Park in Rome will host the eighth edition of Viva l’Italia, the great inter-force exhibition and demonstration event. Here, among the sets of films that have made history, the Defence General Staff and the Armed Forces, Guardia di Finanza, State Police, Penitentiary Police, Red Cross – Military Corps, Red Cross – Volunteer Nurses Corps, Red Cross – Volunteers, National Fire Brigade, with their impressive and impressive display of forces, will be the absolute protagonists of the event dedicated to the men, women and vehicles that guarantee the safety of citizens and the protection of our country.

You will be able to climb aboard gazelles and patrol cars, study the crime scene in the forensic laboratory, learn to recognize clues like a real policeman, learn how to perform DNA analysis, admire the excellent assets of our Armed Forces, Police Forces and State Corps, enjoy the show of military bands and fanfares, together with that of sports groups.

But it doesn’t end there! The theme chosen for the 2024 edition of the event is “Champions of Sport, Champions of Life”, it will be a way to celebrate the athletes supported by the various bodies, including: the athletes of the Paralympic Defense Sports Group Gianmarco Paolocci and Loredana Trigilia. Also this year, for each special ticket linked to the event, 5 euros will be donated to the charity activity. The Defence General Staff is pleased to participate again this year with the exhibition stands of the 4 Armed Forces, at “Viva l’Italia” at Cinecittà World. The charity event renews a now consolidated and shared collaboration to provide support to the Welfare Bodies of the Armed Forces, as a gesture of solidarity and closeness to the families of missing soldiers and to support disabled family members of defence employees through multiple recreational, cultural and sports activities in the spirit of “never leaving anyone behind”.

The event is also an unmissable opportunity to admire and get to know the Armed Forces’ assets of excellence that are used for the benefit of the community to safeguard national security and in case of emergency. The activities will also be enriched by the performances of military bands and fanfares that will retrace our history with their songs. “We are particularly pleased to contribute to the charitable initiative of the event” declared Brigadier General Eugenio Martis, Deputy Chief of the V General Affairs Department of the Defence General Staff.

The Guardia di Finanza will be present with exhibition stands, recently commissioned vehicles, including some with electric/hybrid traction, a latest-generation interactive augmented reality simulator. There will be a space dedicated to the athletes of the Fiamme Gialle, with an exhibition of technical-sports equipment and the presence of some athletes. Finally, a performance by the Banda Musicale del Corpo is scheduled for Friday 6 September.

On the occasion of the celebrations for the 250th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Guardia di Finanza, the prestigious Band of the Corps will delight those present on Friday 6 September with a review of the most famous songs from the past and present, loved by adults and children.

Cinecittà Street, on the other hand, will be dedicated to the State Police, present at the event to give all guests a moment of lightheartedness and to promote the spread of the culture of legality even among the youngest. During the event, in addition to the exhibition stands with specialized personnel engaged in the presentation and dissemination of prevention campaigns, it will be possible to admire some vehicles in use by the State Police – such as the new and sparkling Lamborghini Urus used for the transport of organs throughout the country, two motorcycles of the Highway Patrol, the FullBack of the Scientific Police and the Pink Camper of the State Police with a team specialized in combating violence against women on board. As part of the initiative, operational demonstrations by the canine units and a team of bomb disposal experts of the State Police will be carried out, as well as demonstration essays by a representation of athletes from the Fiamme Oro Sports Groups. Finally, the State Police Fanfare will entertain the public with an exciting musical performance.

For the Penitentiary Police, there will be exhibition stands dedicated to illustrating the tasks and activities of the different specialties of the Corps. It will be possible to learn about the work of the elite departments, NIC, GOM and USPEV; watch the performances of the athletes of the Fiamme Azzurre and the demonstrations of the Dog Service; climb aboard a vehicle used for transporting prisoners; simulate the acquisition of fingerprints with the employees of the IT Service and the collection and conservation of DNA samples with the technical staff of the Central Laboratory for the National DNA Database; attend the concert of the Corps’ Musical Band. “The Penitentiary Police is convinced and proud to be here again this year”, declares Giovanni Russo, Head of the Department of Penitentiary Administration.

The Fire Brigade will be present with some of the rescue vehicles that are seen whizzing around the streets every day, ground teams and specialist personnel. This year, you can also experience the thrill of being on a rescue vehicle from a helicopter to a fire engine thanks to virtual reality. To enrich the participation there will be athletes and technicians from some sections of the GS VV.F. Fiamme Rosse, who will be available to those attending, to teach young and old the basics of their disciplines. On the afternoon of September 14, the National Corps Band will entertain visitors. “We are happy to participate in Viva l’Italia, an event that is renewed every year – says the Head of the National Corps, Carlo dall’Oppio – This is one of those opportunities to be close to citizens in a non-emergency context, useful for spreading the culture of safety and also helps us to support, thanks to our assistance organizations, those who find themselves in difficulty”.
