Sports auction for ELA

The Christie’s house and ELA, (European association against leukodystrophies) are joining forces for a large online auction, from this Monday until Tuesday, December 14, on the site of christies.com. The sale is titled “The Heart of the Stars beats for ELA”. The money raised will be used to finance treatment trials for patients with leukodystrophy.

Several celebrities including Karim Benzema, Éric Cantona, Roger Federer, Olivier Giroud, Rudy Gobert, Lewis Hamilton, Neymar, Luis Suarez, Serena Williams, Grâce Zaadi and Zinédine Zidane (but also Lady Gaga or Billie Eilish, among others) are thus selling 18 lots. Giroud leaves a pair of crampons, estimated between 4,000 and 6,000 euros, Benzema a jersey, between 3,000 and 5,000 euros, Hamilton a combination, between 10,000 and 15,000 euros.

But the highest price should be achieved by a more than original piece: Zinédine Zidane’s left foot, real size, made in Baccarat crystal, all signed “Glasgow, May 15th 2002”. This is the day of the final of the Champions League Leverkusen-Real Madrid (1-2) where Zidane had just scored a splendid goal with his left foot. Associated with a pair of crampons worn by the former star of Real, the whole is estimated between 50,000 and 60,000 euros.
