Jakarta (ANTARA) – There is no specific best time for physical exercise, you can exercise whenever you have free time in between busy activities, whether it’s morning, afternoon or evening. However, make sure the time is not tight with bedtime if you choose to exercise at night.
“Be careful at night, look at the time of sleep. If you sleep at 10 pm, your maximum sports activities stop at 8 pm,” said Sports Medicine Specialist (PDSKO), dr. Leny Pintowari, SpKO in a webinar, Thursday.
Because, the body needs time to lower the metabolism so that the body can rest. Exercise that is too close to bedtime can interfere with the rest schedule.

He invites the public to do physical exercise for the sake of physical fitness which has many benefits, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. By exercising, blood pressure can decrease, as well as total body fat, to anxiety and depression.
Exercise also plays an important role in increasing cardiorespiratory capacity, HDL cholesterol, insulin sensitivity which makes people with diabetes can live a normal life, increase brain capacity, build lean muscle and prevent cancer.
Good physical exercise is one that starts early. But that doesn’t mean you’re just starting to exercise as an adult, it’s too late. According to Leny, the early indicators for each individual are different. It’s better to start even as an adult than not at all.
Furthermore, also adjust the exercise to the health condition of each person. Use appropriate shoes, clothing and equipment for the chosen sport. If you are going to play tennis, wear appropriate shoes and equipment. Likewise if you want to jog or run for physical exercise to increase immunity. Make sure the shoes you wear are the same as the clothes you wear. Then, make sure the sports environment is healthy and safe.
“We still recommend physical exercise at home, but make sure you are healthy and fit if you want to exercise, choose a place in the green zone,” he explained.
