Next Saturday, November 9, Sportivo Belgrano will be inaugurating a new hockey field at the Ciudad Verde facilities.
Tomás Crotti, in charge of Ciudad Verde, told how the work was carried out and what it means for the institution a new space for this sport that is already a reality.
Crotti announced that “We are close to opening the hockey field, if everything goes well and time allows it will be on Saturday, November 9 with a schedule to be defined”.
Regarding work on the field of play, he expressed that “We have been working on it since the beginning of the year. When we arrived you could hardly see the amount of weeds it had since it was quite abandoned. “It took us an approximate investment of 15 million pesos and a lot of work”.
He added that “We had to weed it and Cristian Muzinger also did a spectacular job for us where we threw dirt, then we leveled it, made the slopes for the sides, then mixed dirt with sand and spread it and finally stepped on it so that it was firm. Now we have to paint and finish fixing the perimeter fabric. “We are in the last stage”.
The person in charge of Ciudad Verde also said that “This work began between March and April, and it took us some time. This required us to bring twenty trucks of red soil and two teams of sand. The people who worked on this were essential, both those hired and the people who work on the property and those who collaborated to achieve the objective.”.
Crotti stated that the support of the girls who make up the hockey teams is essential. “We received a lot of collaboration from the girls, they showed a lot of willingness in this regard. Obviously their anxiety is for the field to be inaugurated but they understood that this is a huge effort that the club is making. They took it very well, they always accompanied us and were willing to help with anything. “They always pushed forward.”.
Regarding the inauguration, he argued that “It will be something historic because Sportivo never had hockey in the club, so we are very happy to achieve this activity in the club”.
He also explained that there are works for the future around the hockey field. “We are already in the final stage but the idea is to recondition the barbecue area next to the field so that the girls can use it as a locker room space. The field is practically ready since we added six reflectors and the idea is to add six more.”.
Finally, Crotti thanked all the people who are part of Ciudad Verde and Sportivo Belgrano, the club’s hockey players, Cristian Muzinger and those who collaborated on this project.
