SAD of the “lions” thus achieved the best half-yearly result ever as well as a record turnover of 178.1 million euros. In sales alone, the Alvalade club reached almost 123 million euros.
Sporting’s SAD achieved a record profit of 58.3 million euros in the first half of the current season, in what is the best half-yearly result ever since the “lions” set up this company to manage football. It should be noted that this result results in an increase of 10.8 million euros compared to the result achieved in the same period of the previous season (2022/23).
In a statement to the CMVM, SAD highlights that it reached a value of 122.8 million euros during this period in football pass transactions for players such as Manuel Ugarte, Pedro Porro, Youssef Chermiti and Tiago Tomás.
Thus, turnover was also the highest ever in half-yearly terms as the Alvalade club raised 178.1 million euros “leveraged by good operational performance and income from player transactions, even in a year without revenue” from Champions League.
The assets of the “green-and-white” SAD increased by 80.7 million euros in this period, an increase that quadrupled the increase in liabilities in the same period, which was 22.4 million euros. Thus, Sporting SAD reached the highest positive equity capital ever in history: 67.2 million euros.
In the first half of the current season alone, Sporting achieved a merchandising turnover identical to that of the entire last season: revenue of 9.2 million euros represents double the value achieved in the same period of the previous season.
SAD also highlighted the importance of the operation associated with debt restructuring with “the extinction of the debt originally belonging to Novobanco” and the “acquisition of VMOC” by Sporting, which thus consolidated the majority in SAD’s capital to practically 88%.
