After a day off granted by Rúben Amorim, Sporting’s first team squad returned to training at the Academy this Tuesday, with a handful of surprises. In this specific case, the 38-year-old coach decided on five kids from the secondary formations to join the main team, with Chico Lamba, Miguel Alves (defenders), Manuel Mendonça, Alexandre Brito (midfielders) and Diogo Cabral (forward) making up the group of available from the helmsman of the green and whites.
All of them had already been called up before to work with Sporting’s main team, now repeating their presence in the session that marked the kickoff of this week. In the professional wing of the Academy, the lions started work with a view to next Thursday’s duel against Sturm Graz, in the final round of group D of the Europa League.
In this Tuesday’s session, according to data from the Alvalade club, St. Juste, with a sprained left ankle, and Fresneda, recovering from an operation on her left shoulder, remain in the medical department, undergoing treatment for their respective injuries.
Sporting returns to training this Wednesday morning, at the Academy, with the final session before the reception to Sturm Graz scheduled for 10:30 am. The first 15 minutes of training will be open to the media, and later, still at the Academy, Amorim will preview the Europa League game from 12:45 pm in the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy press room.
