Sporting Gijón are interested in signing Héctor Fort on loan, according to Sport. The Asturian side are looking to loan the right-back from FC Barcelona, who are looking to see him leave in search of playing time. He played 7 league games last season.
Fort has had an irregular preseason, affected by some discomfort and the participation of youngsters such as Gerard Martín and Alex Valle, who have had minutes. The full-back, who turned 18 on August 2 and renewed his contract in May until 2029.
Héctor Fort arrives at La Masia for the 2013/14 season from PB Anguera in the Prebenjamín. After passing through all the lower categories of Barça, the full-back debuts with the first team in the 2023/24 season.
Although it is his second year as a youth player, the 2023/24 season sees him in the dynamics of Barça Atlètic and combines it with call-ups to the first team. On December 13, 2023, he makes his debut with the FC Barcelona first team. He does so as a starter and occupying the right-back position at Amberes. He has made appearances under the orders of Xavi Hernádez from the right-back position, but he also occupies the left-back position as in the Copa del Rey quarter-final match at San Mamés.
Héctor Fort is also playing in the 2023/24 U-17 World Cup and is a must-have for the Spanish national team.
