Viktor Gyökeres continues to score goals.
He netted for Sporting CP in the Europa League win against Sturm Graz at the Merkur Arena.
– It’s a good feeling, says Gyökeres.
After three goals in the opening five league games, Viktor Gyökeres has also started delivering in the Europa League.
He was behind Sporting CP’s late turnaround away to Austrian side Sturm Graz.
Threw himself forward
With a quarter of an hour left to play, the Swede pounced on a loose ball in the penalty area and knocked in the 1-1 goal.
In addition, he pushed the opponent David Affengruber into the post and even grinned badly himself, but the goal was approved and Sporting could go for a winning goal.
– It’s a good feeling. I didn’t have many chances, but it was good to score and give the team an equaliser, says Gyökeres to Portuguese Sport TV.
Atalanta won
After the match, the Swede was noticed for his willingness to run.
– It’s clear that I’m tired sometimes, but it’s sport and you have to run. I have the mentality to continue, he says.
The decision came in the 84th minute through Sebastián Coates and Sporting took three points from the Europa League opener.
Atalanta and Raków Częstochowa also play in Sporting’s Group H. They also met on Thursday night and Atalanta won 2–0.
