Sporting beats Benfica 6-3 and ties play-off National Roller Hockey Championship final

Sporting beat Benfica by 6-3, at Pavilhão João Rocha, and tied (1-1) the final of the play-off National Roller Hockey Championship.

After the defeat (2-4) in the first game, at Luz, the lions entered at full speed and reached the break winning 6-1, with goals from Ferran Font (3), João Souto, Alessandro Verona and Gonzalo Romero . Nicolas Nicolía reduced for Benfica.

In the second half, Sporting controlled operations and managed the result, with the inspiration of Ângelo Girão in goal, denying almost all the opportunities created by the reds. The only thing he couldn’t stop was shots by Roberto Di Benedetto and Daniel Oliveira, who scored the only goals of the second half, insufficient, however, to lead Benfica, at least, to a draw.

The final returns to Luz, next Wednesday, for game 3 of the tie, which is played over the best of five games.
