Ukrainian coach Alexander Petrakov praised his debut at the head of the Armenian team. The team lost to the Turkish national team in the first match of the Euro 2024 qualifier.
“I really liked the atmosphere at the stadium, I apologize to our fans. The head coach is always to blame for failures. I never appreciate refereeing. I am an emotional person, I never sit down during the game. I didn’t even know who was running the game. I will look for new players, I will give young people a chance.”
“I went to the locker room, thanked the guys. I said that they should trust the coaching staff, and I have no reproaches against them,” Petrakov said.
After that, the mentor had a conflict with one of the journalists, who asked if the specialist was making substitutions too late.
“I don’t think I was late with the replacements. In general, I don’t know the guys who is in what position. Need to know more. But this is not an excuse. For a week it is impossible for the guys to find out where to put someone, who to strengthen and so on. If you want to blame me, blame me,” Petrakov said.
