“Sport.pl Reveals Thurnbichler’s Decision on Lineup of Poles for World Cup Final in Planica”

Coach Thomas Thurnbichler called up six jumpers for the last weekend of the World Cup in Planica, Slovenia. Compared to the competition in Lahti there is one change.

The Polish Ski Association informed that Thomas Thurnbichler has already made a decision regarding the team of ski jumpers for the competition in Planica. Six competitors will go to Slovenia – Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła, Paweł Wąsek, Aleksander Zniszczoł, Andrzej Stękała and Jan Habdas. Stękała joined the team of Tomasz Pilch, who failed his jump in the one-series individual competition in Lahti and was the only Pole who did not score on Sunday.

The last competition of this World Cup season will take place on the mammoth in Planica next weekend. The individual competitions are scheduled for Friday afternoon and Sunday morning, and the team competition for Saturday morning.

The Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud already has a Crystal Ball. The runner-up in the general classification is Stefan Kraft, who overtook Dawid Kubacki on Sunday. The Polish jumper withdrew more than a week ago from the rest of the season after his wife was hospitalized. Only Anze Lanisek can jump on the podium. Unfortunately, he would do it at the expense of the Pole.

In the game for fifth place, Piotr Żyła is in the final classification, but he loses more than 100 points to Ryoyu Kobayashi.

Kamil Stoch can theoretically jump into the top ten, although he has a loss of over 170 points to Manuel Fettner and almost 160 points to Karl Geiger.

Other Poles are in further positions, but Paweł Wąsek can still advance to the best 30. He is 31 points behind Philipp Raimund.
