Team captain Seko Fofana scored both goals when Lens picked up two goals and secured 2-2 in overtime. Then he put in the decisive penalty kick in the 4-3 victory.
Lille led 2-0 at the break after two quick goals by Amadou Onana just before and after half an hour. Fofana created new excitement with their reduction goal midway through the second half.
– I cry
Berg came in for midfielder Kevin Danso in the 75th minute when the hosts chased the equalizer, and he was in the final sprint which ensured a penalty shootout.
The debutant was involved in a great chance just before the end. The former Glimt player picked up the ball in the return room and set up Ibrahima Baldé, who had just come in. Via a defender, his shot hit the underside of the crossbar.
On Twitter, several have been impressed by the Norwegian’s entry.
– I cry. Patrick Berg spent 124 seconds slipping over French football, one writes.
