Sport in Montauban: the program for the coming months

The pandemic slowed sports activities in Montauban, but on the side of the Municipal Sports Office of Montauban (OMEPS), the behind-the-scenes work continued. The new president Jean-Pierre Rebié, assisted by his two vice-presidents Gérard Blondé and Fabrice Favaretto, established a work plan with specific tasks for each. And the upcoming program is enticing.

Apart from the organization of the “sports festival “ which will take place again on the Cours Foucault on September 4 and 5, the team is working on the key events of the 2021-2022 season: the “presidents evening” will be repeated with probably some modifications in its animation. This evening will remain very convivial around a glass of wine, but this year the “wine” will be in the spotlight. The date, as far as possible, will be the same as that of the release of the early wines, that is to say the third Thursday in November.

For the “evening of trophies”, it will be scheduled in early 2022. The office reflected on the terms of awarding prizes given that many sports will not have had successful competitions during the 2020-2021 season so fewer champions to present.

Moreover the “sports day in collaboration with the USEP” will be renewed at the end of the school year for Montalbanese first cycle students.

Evening with members

A new event is under study. In a very friendly spirit, it will aim to federate an OMEPS family spirit with the participation of all club members. This event will be very original and will undoubtedly be a great success.

A new minibus

But OMEPS is not only the organization of events, it is also a precious help for all of its members, more than 100 clubs today. To do this, the purchase of a new minibus is being considered in order to meet an ever increasing demand from clubs for their trips. But before all that, in July, a meeting will be organized with all the clubs participating in the “sports festival”.
