Four players are allowed to leave in January at FC Barcelona. At least, that’s what SPORT reports. It would be Samuel Umtiti, Junior Firpo, Carles Aleña and Riqui Puig.
Trainer Ronald Koeman has shortlisted the quartet. However, that does not mean that they are also leaving. But if clubs were to report, Barcelona is according to SPORT willing to cooperate.
Barcelona benefits from outbound transfers in several ways. Games that now have few minutes can gain experience elsewhere or even be sold, and space is created for new players. Koeman already indicated that Barcelona is working behind the scenes with incoming transfers, but was unable to name any names. According to SPORT, Memphis Depay, Georginio Wijnaldum and Eric García (Manchester City) are still on his list.
He wanted to have those players last summer, but the financial situation of Barcelona made things more difficult.
