Sport – Dota 2 Team Brame wins ESL Spring Championship – Sport

Cologne (dpa) – The Dota-2 team Brame has won the ESL spring championship. The German-Greek team, which had finished second in the previous season in the German national league, defeated Hehe United 2-1 in the final. In the semifinals, the squad had prevailed against Ivy.

“Personally, I am incredibly exhausted, we have now played six games in a row and then also under tournament conditions,” said Brame’s support player Merlin “Luft” Seibel in an interview after the game. “I would speak of a professionalization in the ESL championship. In the beginning it was more randomly thrown together teams that competed. Over the course of the seasons you can see that players with similar performance demands are found and then also train a lot.”

In the first game of the final, Brame comfortably took the lead. The team continued to build on the gold advantage achieved in the fifth minute. In the second game, both teams were tied up to a disastrous team fight in the twentieth minute, which Hehe United was able to convert into a 1: 1. In the decisive game, even a Broodmother on the side of Hehe United could not avert the team’s defeat.

In the last season of the ESL championship, Brame narrowly missed the win behind 5Comrades. The spring season 2021 began for the team with a second place in the comparatively stronger Group A, from which Hehe United also came. The playoffs went largely comfortably for the team apart from a slip against Ivy in the semifinals.
