Cologne (dpa / lnw) – The fitness fair Fibo, which has been postponed due to the corona pandemic, is to be rescheduled in October in purely digital form. This decision was made after talks with exhibitors and partners, announced the head of the organizer Reed Exhibitions, Hans-Joachim Erbel, on Tuesday. “Together we had hoped to be able to restart the industry in October after the month-long lockdown,” said Erbel. “Unfortunately, given the ongoing development of the pandemic and the associated uncertainty, this will not be the case.”
The Cologne trade fair company, which actually wanted to slowly resume its trade fair operations in autumn, had recently canceled several trade fairs – at least as a presence format. Due to uncertainties, a number of exhibitors are still deciding against participating in trade fairs on site.
From October 1st to 3rd, digital formats and offers around sports and fitness will take place for both trade visitors and private individuals, as the organizers announced on Tuesday. Originally, Fibo was supposed to take place in April, but like all other trade fairs it was initially canceled due to the Corona crisis.
