Spooky & Sue singer Sue Chaloner (71) has passed away

Singer Sue Chaloner, known from the duo Spooky & Sue, died on Monday at the age of 71. Henkjan Smits announced this on behalf of the family on Friday in the NPO Radio 5 program the Magical Mystery Tour.

The London-born Chaloner came to the Netherlands in 1970 with the English cast of the musical Hair. The singer then decided to continue living in Amsterdam. From 1974 she formed the duo Spooky & Sue with Iwan Groeneveld. They scored hits with songs like You Talk Too Much in Swinging On A Star. The duo tried to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976, but failed in the preliminary round.
