München, 24.10.2024 – On Halloween there will be lots of witches and monsters on the screens again. But what is actually suitable for children on TV, streaming services or YouTube? In one Halloween-Special FLIMMO has put together child-friendly content that can be seen around October 31st.
“For many children, scary films or series are part of Halloween. So that the scary fun doesn’t end in nightmares, FLIMMO gives parents tips on what they should pay attention to when making their selection,” says Dr. Thorsten Schmiege, chairman of the program advice association for parents and president of the Bavarian State Center for New Media (BLM).
While older people can usually handle exciting, dangerous or mysterious scenes well, younger people quickly reach their limits. Parents should therefore carefully monitor how much tension their child can tolerate. And it’s best to watch it together, because that’s the most fun for little Halloween fans! One thing is also clear: Horror films for adults are generally taboo for children of all ages.
