Spokesman Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, Rifai Darus said that the reason for the removal of Dance Yulian Flassy as the Regional Secretary of Papua was the impact of asking to be appointed as the daily executor (Plh) of the Governor of Papua to the Minister of Home Affairs.
Enembe has now appointed the Assistant for General Affairs of the Regional Secretariat of the Papua Province, Ridwan Ruikutun, as the Acting (Plt) of the Regional Secretary of the Papua Province.
“What happened was that Mr. Dance made a wrong step and it started taking a long time since he sent a letter to the Minister of Home Affairs asking to be appointed as Plh. [Gubernur]. That’s not good ethics in the management of government organizations,” Rifai said CNNIndonesia.com, Wednesday (14/7).
The Ministry of Home Affairs appointed Dance as the Daily Executor (Plh) of the Governor of Papua at the end of June 2021.
The appointment was intended so that Papua would not experience a leadership vacuum after Enemmber underwent treatment in Singapore.
Rifai said that Enembe thanked Dance for helping run the government in Papua for the past three months. Enembe, he said, said he wanted to focus on carrying out the rest of the government for the next two years.
“So that there are no obstacles between fellow government officials in Papua,” he said.
Furthermore, Rifai admitted that he had written to the Ministry of Home Affairs and President Joko Widodo to appoint a definitive Papuan Secretary.
He hopes that the definitive Regional Secretary will be able to continue to follow the directions and instructions of the Governor to develop Papua.
“He has already asked the Ministry of Home Affairs and [Ridwan] become Acting while waiting for a decision from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the definitive Regional Secretary,” he said.
