ÖVP continues to systematically favor the wealthy and corporations
Vienna (OTS/SK) – SPÖ finance spokesman Krainer evaluates the version presented today to fight tax fraud as follows: “Taking action against fraudulent companies is welcome. The government expects an income of 30 million euros for the budget. But the tax avoidance through difficult avoidance structures and ÖVP favors is worth billions.” Krainer emphasizes: “The problem with the ÖVP is that it only wants to fight tax fraud in the -his Sunday speeches. From Monday to Friday he interferes with the tax officials in their work. The fact that the leadership of the ÖVP systematically favors the rich and the corporations is a fact he has seen. We are definitely in the search committees,” says Krainer. ****
The SPÖ finance spokesperson points out that the tax administration itself has thoroughly reviewed the structural and personnel improvements needed so that tax authorities do not find themselves in a losing position when the investigation of the wealthy with their complicated tax structures from affiliated companies and foundations.
The two-year project was completed in December 2018 with strong legislative and organizational recommendations – however, the final report disappeared in a drawer in the management of the ministry and was only repeated in the COFAG audit committee. A project manager at the large business audit department (today: the tax office for large companies) did not understand why the report was completely ignored. (End) wf/up
