Split screen, dual apps and more! Here’s what to expect from iOS 17 in 2023

It seems like yesterday that the news of Apple’s new operating system was announced. however, the iOS 17 is coming and should bring even more innovation to all iPhone owners.

It’s worth noting that there is no launch date for the system yet, but that should be by the end of 2023.

1 – Permission for apps outside the App Store

One of the biggest expectations about next year’s iOS 17 iphone it concerns the ability to download applications from outside the App Store (Apple’s official store for apps). According to the Bloomberg website, this change was motivated by a European law and, therefore, the measure should really go into effect.

It is worth mentioning that Apple has always been against using applications that were not in its official store. The alleged motive is to compromise user safety. However, the opposite has been happening on Android for some time now.

2 – New widget format in iOS 17

Apple has always changed the functions and layout of widgets (phone tools). In the latest OS update, users were able to have more control over resource customization. For iOS 17, the company needs to increase the limit of widgets to add to the lock screen.

3 – Clone apps

Another rumor that may also come true in iOS 17 is the ability to duplicate apps within the iPhone. This allows the same user to use two different accounts within an application that will be cloned to the device.

4 – iOS 17 will allow split screen

As with computers, the upcoming iOS should allow device screen splitting. This way, you can use two apps or perform simultaneous tasks without having to minimize.
