It is a documentary animated film, which is an exciting, unusual film genre and the story of the film will be understandable to students of different ages. The guests of the lecture will be the children of different ages of the film “Voice Actors” and director Ilze Burkovska-Jakobsen, who in this film tells about her childhood in the Soviet Union, when there were pioneers, iron discipline at school, empty shops, but very close to Ilze’s house was a scary military object . We offer a lecture to 8th – 12th grade young people, at the end of which there will be an opportunity to watch the film “Cinema and We”. The lecturers will be the new director Matiss Goat and comedian Jānis Skutelis, who is one of the actors in this film. The film “Cinema and We” is about the history of Latvian cinema and tells about making three classic films in the once famous Riga film studio. Jānis Skutelis will ask the director difficult questions about both the famous Latvian film actors and the making of the film. Viewers will be able to learn what it means to shoot a movie in one frame.
The “Latvian School Bag” is designed as a complex, interdisciplinary program that combines resources to strengthen the new generation’s national identity, citizenship, sense of nationality, develop cultural understanding and expression competence, increase the quality of education, as well as reduce social inequality. The program includes events that enable students to get to know Latvia in person in art and cultural events (performing arts, music, visual arts, literature, dance, architecture, design and cinema).
