“Kids, use condoms, your fate is in your hands” – wit Roberts Silavs posted a one-night stand skit on TikTok last week, which he said was paid for by the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC). The staff of the center also noticed this video and asked to either remove the video or change it, but Silav considers such a request inappropriate in a democratic society.

About 7,600 people follow Robert Silav on the “TikTok” platform, but the joke video in which SPKC is invoked has already been viewed 176,000 times.
In the material, the guy played on the topic of having children, saying that it is a very expensive “pleasure”, so young people should remember to use condoms.

Soon Silav received a private message from SPKC. The center writes that, while understanding the humorous nature of the video, it nevertheless requests that it be removed or modified in such a way that neither the emblem of the institution nor the reference to SPKC is visible.

Ilze Arāja, the head of SPKC’s communication department, told the “Delfi” portal that she sees misleading information about the institution and the “use of state budget funds” in the video made by Silava, while Silav thinks that with his joke he caused “a little inconvenience to the communication department of the institution”. It is not acceptable for him that a state institution interferes with the creative expressions of an individual.
“The fact that a state institution asks to delete a joke, in my opinion, is not in line with the basic principles of a democratic society and is not very cool at all. I gladly follow all the instructions of the SPKC, but this time I won’t do it,” says the joker in “Delfi”.
Silava’s video about SPKC’s request to delete the previous material has already been viewed 145 thousand times in one day.
