Christos Spirtzis is not going to respond to the call of the Ethics Committee of SYRIZA.
The Commission invited the former minister and MP, on the occasion of the letter of 70 members of the party, who on July 11 requested his deletion.

“I’m not going because I don’t have time at the moment, because I’m dealing with wiretapping,” said the member of the SYRIZA Central Committee to ERT, arguing that his attitude “does not discredit” the body.
“It’s strange that the Ethics Commission operates on August 5. I congratulate her, but I don’t have availability, just like our president doesn’t” he characteristically said and added:
“I imagine the Ethics Committee will call and examine the 70 who denounce me and will make a recommendation to the Central Committee […] If I am deleted for the reasons of the complaint, that is, because I spoke my opinion, it will be a great honor for me!”
“I am not afraid of deletion, because I grew up politically in parties of the progressive world that were never afraid to state our opinions” he noted and repeated his position on the need to form a common front of the Center-Left against the government.
“My opinion is that Alexis Tsipras, George Papandreou and many other executives of the progressive world have a duty to take initiatives” he stressed…
Christos Spirtzis opposed the deletion of Pavlos Polakis. “These issues are dealt with by political condemnation, but not by deletions,” he said of the MP of Chania.
