It’s the expensive energy that has pushed inflation up again since the fall. But the rest of life is now also becoming more expensive.
For example, food is now 4.6 percent more expensive than a year ago. This is partly due to the so-called second-round effects: this means that companies will pass on expensive energy and raw materials in their prices, but also higher wage costs, which in turn are the result of previous inflation.
