“Spike in COVID-19 Cases in Indonesia due to Arcturus Subvariant and Idul Fitri Mudik season”

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage the world, and Indonesia is no exception. In recent days, the country has experienced a surge in cases, with the highly contagious Arcturus subvariant believed to be responsible for the spike. This increase in infections is also attributed to the increased public mobility during the annual Idul Fitri mudik (exodus) season. As of Wednesday, authorities have reported a staggering 2,647 new infections, the highest daily caseload in five months, with 15,707 active cases. In the previous week, there were 12,504 new cases, which is almost double the figure recorded for the same period. It is essential that we all take the necessary precautions to mitigate the spread of this virus and protect ourselves and our loved ones.
