Jordan Spice (USA) was sluggish in the final round and unfortunately did not win the American Professional Golf (PGA) Tour. Daniel Burger (USA), a friend of the same age, succeeded in winning the reversal by reducing 7 strokes on the last day.
Spice won 5 birdies and 3 bogies in the final 4 rounds of AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am ($7.8 million in prize money) held at Pebble Beach Golf Links (par 72, 7051 yards) in Pebble Beach Golf Links, California, USA on the 15th (Korean time). Tied up, I wrote 2 under par 70 strokes.
Spies finished in a tie for third place with a final total of 15 under par 273. The championship was won by a burger with an 18-under par 270.
Spice, who fell into sluggish after winning The Open in 2017, sprinted to the top of the 3rd round, raising expectations for winning in 3 years and 7 months. However, in the final round, he ended up committing three bogies and was far from the competition. Still, it is a positive sign that it entered the “Top 5” for two weeks in a row following the recent Phoenix Open (joint 4th). Spice caught a birdie from hole 2 (par 5) and started smoothly, but with hole 3 (par 4). On the 5th hole (par 3), I stopped seeing one after another and shook. Fortunately, he made up with a birdie on hole 7 (par 3), and Spice regained strength by adding a birdie on hole 10 (par 4). However, on the 14th hole (par 5), he fell into the rough twice and left a feeling of regret.
Spies caught a birdie in a row on holes 17 (par 3) and holes 18 (par 5), but he was already out of the competition.
Burger hit 7-under-par 65 hits with 2 Eagles, 4 Birdies, and 1 Bogie. Burger won the fourth PGA Tour title with a final total of 18 under par 270 strokes. Burger was tied for lead until the last hole 18 (par 5). However, he succeeded in putting the Eagle on the 18th hole and held the championship trophy in his arms.
Maverick McNealy (US) tied for third with 272 strokes at 16 under par, and Patrick Cantley (US) tied for third with 273 strokes at 15 under par.
Kang Seong-hoon (34, CJ Logistics), the only Korean player to pass the cut, finished with a tie for 63rd place with a final total of 2 over par 290 strokes.
