Spider-Woman on the big screen? | The Journal of Montreal

Olivia Wilde would soon be shooting a new Spider-Woman. The Booksmart director has struck a deal to develop an untitled Marvel project at Sony that will focus on a female character from the comic book character universe, according to Deadline.

Olivia Wilde shared a link on Twitter to the post about her new project and added a spider emoji. Although nothing is confirmed, this emoji suggests that this is a movie about Spider-Woman. Especially since the filmmaker then shared on Instagram a photo of her 3-year-old daughter, Daisy (whom she had with her partner Jason Sudeikis) wearing a Spider-Man costume. The film will be written by Katie Silberman, with Amy Pascal as producer and Rachel O’Connor as executive producer.

Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever, who worked on Olivia Wilde’s first film Booksmart, were among the celebrities who congratulated her on landing the coveted contract. And Natalie Portman commented, “Ahhhhhh !!! It is so important! “

Olivia Wilde is currently working on an upcoming Christmas comedy starring Katie Silberman and Amy Pascal, which they hope to complete before starting work on the Marvel movie.

The character of Spider-Woman has been the alter-ego of several women in the Spider-Man universe, including Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, and Jessica Drew. Sony is also developing another superheroine film, Madame Web, with director SJ Clarkson.
