In New York City, Spider-Man fans may come across a real Daily Bugle newsstand on their way to work.
Remember, Spider-Man: Far From Home ended with Spider-Man’s face on display all over print and digital media. Today, with the release this week of Spider-Man : No Way Home, American fans can get the latest news from their superhero at a specially dedicated newsstand.
In fact, in the frame of the film’s release, a Daily Bugle newsstand has just been installed in real life in New York.
Fruit of a partnership between Sony Entertainment Pictures and the insurance company Liberty Mutuat, a newsstand in New York’s Upper East Side has just been temporarily converted into a newsstand for the Daily Bugle, the fictional journal of the Marvel films.
Obviously, fans can find real newspapers (free) with limited edition copies. In this real-fake newspaper, there are articles about Spider-Man and fake Liberty Mutual advertisements. Ad Age reports that the insurance provider is touting itself as the go-to protector of the villains of the multiverse in this edition.
« Spider-Man: No Way Home has been surrounded by secrets, rumors and a huge buzz since the start of production, so it is only fitting that a real and limited edition of The Daily Bugle be distributed at a New York newsstand ”, says Jeffrey Godsick, executive vice president of global partnerships and brand management at Sony Entertainment Pictures.
