Spicy video in Spanish cathedral: ‘Apologies to all Catholics who feel offended’ | Abroad

Dancing bodies rubbing against each other in Toledo Cathedral. Believers did not know what they saw when they saw the new clip of the Spanish rapper C Tangana. The local archbishop apologized to all Catholics who felt offended by this. “I knew nothing about this project in advance,” it sounds.

The video shows the rapper dancing intimately with Argentine singer Nathy Peluso in the cathedral. A priest secretly watches her writhing body. It doesn’t stop there: C Tangana also pulls his dance partner by the hair, following the example of a demon in one of the paintings in the cathedral. And a little further on, Peluso can be seen naked, holding C Tangana’s severed head in her hand.

Barely hours after the clip was launched yesterday, the archbishop was summoned. “I deeply regret what happened here,” he said. “I knew nothing about this project beforehand. A sacred place was inappropriately used for entertainment. We ask forgiveness from all believers who rightly feel hurt by this. We will also review procedures so that this does not happen again in the future.”

offended

The dean of the cathedral knew what was about to happen. And he can now live with the result, as it turns out. “The song represents a conversion born of love,” said Juan Miguel Ferrer Grenesche. To which he promptly quotes a piece of text. “I was an atheist, but now I believe. A miracle like you must come from heaven.”

“Visually it may seem provocative, but nobody’s faith is offended,” says Grenesche. “Church leavers may even be convinced to return. If this leaves anyone with a sour aftertaste, I’d like to apologize.”

In August, C Tangana was already accused of sexism. He then promoted his new song Yate (Yacht) by posing next to a lot of ladies in bikinis.
